Is This You?

Microneedling Is Probably Worth a Conversation If…

Microneedling works on skin quality — the texture, tone, and structure of the skin itself. Here's what that looks like in the mirror.

Acne scars that won't budge

The rolling and boxcar indentations left behind after breakouts cleared. Makeup sits in them; good lighting still finds them.

Pores you notice in every photo

Especially across the nose and cheeks. Microneedling improves the structure around the pore so it reads smaller.

Rough, uneven texture

Skin that looks fine at a distance but feels bumpy and photographs unevenly. Texture is exactly what this treats.

Dull, tired-looking skin

No single problem you can point to — it just doesn't have the bounce or glow it used to. Collagen loss looks like this.

Fine lines and early laxity

Skin starting to lose firmness. RF microneedling adds controlled heat for tightening that standard microneedling can't deliver.

Told lasers aren't safe for your skin

Many resurfacing lasers carry pigmentation risk in deeper skin tones. Microneedling works mechanically, not by targeting melanin.

Not sure it's right for you? That's what the free consultation is for. Caroline will tell you honestly if microneedling isn't the right treatment for your concern — including when something else would serve you better.

Two Options

Standard Microneedling vs. RF Microneedling

Most Greenville clinics offer one. We offer both — because they solve different problems, and matching the right one to your skin is most of the result.

✦ Which one you need is a clinical call, not a menu choice

If your concern is texture, pores, and acne scarring, standard microneedling is usually the efficient answer. If skin firmness and laxity are the real issue, RF is what actually addresses that — and paying for standard sessions won't get you there. Caroline makes that call after looking at your skin, and tells you which is the better use of your money.

Simple Process

Three Steps to Better Skin

1

Request your free consultation

Fill out the form or call. We'll confirm a time that works — usually within one business day, often the same day.

2

Get a real assessment

Caroline examines your skin, reviews your history and medications, recommends standard or RF, maps out how many sessions, and quotes exact pricing.

3

Start your series

Sessions run about 30 minutes of treatment time, spaced 4–6 weeks apart so your collagen has time to rebuild between visits.

What the Days After Actually Look Like

Short downtime is microneedling's biggest practical advantage over deeper resurfacing. Here's the honest version.

Day 0 · Treatment

About 30 minutes of treatment

A topical numbing cream is applied first, so most patients describe the session as tolerable — a vibration and light scratching sensation. You'll leave flushed, like a workout or mild sunburn.

Days 1–2 · Recovery

Redness fades, skin feels tight

Standard microneedling settles within 24–48 hours; RF runs 2–3 days with some swelling. Most people are back to normal — and back to makeup — inside two days.

Weeks 4–12 · Results

Collagen rebuilds underneath

The visible change isn't immediate. Texture and scarring improve progressively as new collagen forms, which is exactly why the sessions are spaced 4–6 weeks apart.

The one rule: no retinol, exfoliating acids, or direct sun while you're healing. New skin is vulnerable, and sun exposure during recovery is the fastest way to undo what you just paid for.

Why Millstone

Needle Depth Is a Medical Decision

Microneedling creates thousands of controlled injuries in your skin. Too shallow and you paid for nothing. Too aggressive and you risk scarring the very tissue you came to repair.

🩺 A medical prescriber, not a technician

Caroline Timms is an APRN with 25+ years in healthcare, certified in Aesthetics Medicine. She reviews your medications and history — recent isotretinoin, active acne infection, keloid tendency, and pregnancy all change the plan or rule treatment out.

⚡ Both standard and RF under one roof

Clinics that only own one device will recommend the one they own. We offer both, so the recommendation follows your skin rather than our equipment.

🏥 Board-certified physician on staff

We operate inside Millstone Medical, a Greenville clinic running since 2004 — not a studio with a medical director who signs charts remotely and has never been in the building.

💬 Honest answers, including "no"

If your concern is pigment rather than texture, microneedling isn't your best first move and we'll say so. A consultation that ends in a different recommendation is a good outcome.

Before You Book

The Questions People Ask Us Most

Microneedling is priced per session, and RF costs more per session than standard because the treatment is more intensive. Most patients need a series, so we quote both the per-session price and the full series cost at your free consultation — before anything is scheduled. Call (864) 269-6131 if you'd like a range before coming in.
A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment, which makes the session very manageable for most patients. The common description is a vibration with light scratching, more noticeable over bony areas like the forehead and jawline. RF microneedling adds a warming sensation. If you're anxious about discomfort, say so at your consultation — it's a normal thing to ask about and there are ways to make you more comfortable.
Standard microneedling leaves redness resembling a mild sunburn that resolves within 24–48 hours. RF microneedling runs a little longer — redness and some swelling for 2–3 days. Most patients return to work within a day or two, and makeup can usually go back on after 24 hours. If you have an event, book at least a week out.
This is one of microneedling's real advantages. Many resurfacing lasers work by targeting pigment with light energy, which is why they carry a higher hyperpigmentation risk in deeper skin tones. Microneedling works mechanically — creating micro-channels rather than heating melanin — so it's widely used across all skin types. Depth and aftercare still need to be handled thoughtfully, which is where having a medical provider matters.
Standard microneedling typically runs 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart; RF is usually 3–4 because each session does more. Deeper acne scarring sits at the higher end of those ranges. After your initial series, one or two maintenance sessions a year generally holds the result. Caroline gives you a specific number after examining your skin rather than selling a package upfront.
Skin often looks brighter within a week from the initial healing response, but the real change is slower. Collagen remodeling takes weeks to months, so meaningful improvement in texture and scarring usually shows after the second or third session and continues developing for months after your series ends. Microneedling rewards patience — it is not a same-week treatment.
No. The consultation is free and carries no obligation. Plenty of people consult, get their questions answered, and decide the timing isn't right — that's a completely normal outcome. You'll leave knowing what the treatment involves and what it costs, whether or not you book.
